1. Nostalgia

The entrance into Amity

Nostalgia can be a very overpowering thing. Everyone remembers their first. What they grew up on. What they loved. And usually it will always hold a place in your heart. For me, it’s no different with Jaws. On my first few trips to Universal I was only 13/14. I never really had a true appreciation for the attraction until I got older. Jaws was Universal’s equivalent of Pirates of the Caribbean or the Haunted Mansion.

When the news came across that it’s time was coming to an end, initially there was shock and resentment from many fans, including myself. This is what we loved. What’s been a part of our trips and memories forever.

But the old always makes way for new, and that new is now one of the greatest theme park expansions ever created. It still hurts, yes… but time heals all wounds, especially when its a trip to Diagon Alley.

It’s natural to look to the past and miss what we once had and no longer have. Jaws was one of the attractions that made Universal into what it is today.
