The Today Cafe opened its doors for the first time yesterday at Universal Studios Florida, allowing passholders the first chance to enjoy the new quick-service restaurant.

Inspired by the studio where the show is filmed, fans will be able to enjoy the experience of enjoying a bite while inside a recreation of Studio 1A in the Rockefeller Center.

The Today Cafe will offer specialty breakfast options like bagel toast and breakfast bowls; to New York-inspired sandwiches and salads. Guests can grab items on-the-go, or enjoy their meal any time of the day at seating both inside and outside in an area designed to look like the Today Plaza.

As of today, the Today Cafe is officially soft-opened, meaning the restaurant is open in a limited, testing phase, and an opening is not guaranteed. Tweaks, changes, and updates will most likely occur prior to the grand opening.

Breakfast is served until 11 am, while lunch is served from 11-close. Pastries and desserts are available throughout the day. Prices for the sandwiches range from $11-$14, with desserts ranging from $4-$6.

During our visit, we ordered a couple of sandwiches and desserts to go with it. Our server informed us that the Lemon Meringue Tart is unique, as the recipe comes the Chef’s own mother, and is considered by some of the staff as the best dessert in the line-up.

The design of the Cafe is very sleek and bright, compared to its predecessor – The Beverly Hills Boulangerie. TVs are found throughout, playing clips from the Today Show; or if you’re there during breakfast – a live broadcast.

We’ll have more thoughts once the Cafe officially opens. In the mean
