UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD, THE ENTERTAINMENT CAPITAL OF L.A., CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS WITH TOWERING CHRISTMAS TREE THROUGH JANUARY 1, 2007; MERRIMENT EXTENDS TO CITYWALK, CULMINATING IN FESTIVE NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION
Universal City, California – Universal Studios Hollywood, The Entertainment Capital of L.A., illuminates the holiday season with a towering six-story Christmas tree decked out with an award-winning collection of movie-themed ornaments and nightly tree lighting ceremonies, beginning December 3 and continuing through January 1, 2007. With accompanying holiday music echoing through the theme park, guests can enjoy specially-choreographed "Christmas Spectacular" dance performances by a cast of animated characters and a troupe of professional dancers all kicking up their heels five times daily. Coupled with the theme park’s popular "Buy A Day, Get 2007 Free" annual pass, which enables guests to purchase a single day’s admission ticket and enjoy a full "Year of Entertainment," Universal Studios Hollywood offers guests unlimited reasons to spend more than just the holidays at "The Entertainment Capital of L.A." The holiday celebration will extend onto CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood with an array of festive holiday activities, over 30 Christmas trees and showers of snow falling on the popular CityWalk stage. On weekends from November 24 through December 30, beginning nightly at 7:30pm, the popular CityWalk stage will be transformed into a venue for live concert performances. Friday nights invite edgy rock ‘n’ roll bands to jam rhythmic versions of popular Christmas classics. Saturday nights, traditional holiday choirs will resonate with melodious carols and Sunday evenings will showcase interesting regional bands performances. From December 26-30, CityWalk will amp up the entertainment with daily concerts performances from a popular bands beginning at 7:30 pm. Eclectic street performers and the world’s largest mistletoe dangling from CityWalk’s "Santa "Kong will surely add to the ultimate merry "kiss-mas" spirit. A 15-foot, 1,000-lbs Menorah will light up Universal CityWalk for the 5th annual Chanukah Festival on Sunday, December 17th from 5:00 -9:00 pm as hundreds gather at the free Festival of Lights celebration. Southern California’s largest New Year’s Eve party kicks-off at CityWalk as the 2007 countdown begins at 9:00 pm on December 31. The free celebration will rock to live bands and DJ performances, a global countdown culminating with blasts of confetti cannons. The "Buy A Day, Get 2007 Free" can be purchased online at http://www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com or at the Universal Studios Hollywood ticket booths and can be redeemed at the theme park’s Annual Pass processing center.
