RE: Shrek 4D Undergoing New Film?
Haven't seen many of the latest animated movies, but I'm sure it won't be a problem to find a replacement when the time comes. I haven't seen that show in a while!

The bf and I skip it every single time, same as the animal actors show. T2:3D still holds some appeal, but for the most part the 3D/4D shows are just...bleh. What I really miss is the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue (for obvious reasons). I'd love to see them ditch Shrek and put in a better quality live show, since the space is too small for a ride. The Blues Brothers show is still pretty good, but I'd enjoy seeing something other than that and Water World every time.

Wild Wild West Stunt Show could always make a return, but that's a stretch. I couldn't imagine anything else that could occupy that theater. Perhaps if they combined the Curious George playground...

RE: Shrek 4D Undergoing New Film?
You know, with a new Woody Woodpecker film from Illumination and Universal in the works, I wonder if this will be the long-awaited replacement for Shrek? If they do this, I really hope they use new seats that can move laterally, plus add some wind and scent. Something like this:

RE: Shrek 4D Undergoing New Film?
Time to revive this thread. Screamscape has reported of a new attraction to come to USH 2013 or possibly 2014. The big rumor going around is that it could be the Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem attraction that is set to open in Orlando in a few months. If that's the case, something like that could be a very ideal replacement for Shrek.

But I wonder, are they simply going to retool the attraction for the former Nickelodeon theater in Florida? If they are, then it really makes no financial sense for them to change Shrek this late into the game.

RE: Shrek 4D Undergoing New Film?
I think it would make more sense for Shrek to stick around for a while longer and change the video to update to the newer films. Plus, the Shrek show building is large enough for a standard dark ride like Cat in the Hat or something similar. I think Shrek will stay since all focus must be on Potter at the moment. I also believe Shrek will survive the chopping block of Potter.
Unless I have family visiting...I skip it too. Sadly, I have started to skip Terminator and I love Terminator. ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |
