What has been the general reaction of people...
Have you talked to people about the new Simpson's ride? What has been their general reaction or impression when you tell them about the upcoming Simpson's ride? Let's hear some real expectations from everyone out there...

Most of the people I tell are excited about it. There are only two people who dislike the idea, though they do enjoy watching the show.

I asked a few people. Surprisingly there were all kinda happy. Bttf was old and they need something new. I ruined one persons day due to thinking the new ride would be 'Transformers' theme. lol.. but people are glad something new is comming

Mixed feelings here. Definately need something new. But unsure about the Simpsons. I'm sure it will be fun, but I doubt it will blow me away. In the case of Orlando getting the Simpsons, we alread have a cartoon simulator with Jimmy Neutron. I hope it will have something extra special to make it worth it.

I do not feel that USH needed something new in this venue. I do not mind Orlando swapping out BTTF because Orlando's quality standards are much higher. BTTF really fit well at USH. I am sad and upset that Future is leaving us.

All people I have talked to have had a negative reaction to a Simpson's attraction. I can't wait to see the terrible USH advertising for this new ride.

I'll go with Skillz5 on this one. Back to the Future was a Universal flagship back in the 80's, early 90's. It truly followed the phrase "ride the movies", where guests could ride along their characters in an innovative attraction such as BTTF:TR.

I wish Universal would focus on their own franchise, rather then others. They need to be more creative with what they have, instead of borrowing other franchises.

That's always been my beef- promoting OTHER studio franchises. I've said it before that universal just doesn't make "Franchise" movies or the types of blockbusters that translate into great attractions. They mailed it in the 80's & 90's, but things have changed on the studio producing level.

Universal Studio had it dead on with the "Ride the movies" slogan when they opened. I direct you to ET when it first opened. The movie where Steven Spielberg talks about the attraction is different that when it first opened and captured the idea of being in a movie. Here's a video of it:

That's what it was all about. Then there was Hitchcock putting you in Pyscho. Then the attraction where you were inserted into movies (I forget the title). It had everything.

Yesm I love it today and love most of the attractions (sorry Twister). Even Earthquake's first shot at audience participation had guests in an earthquake on a blue screen (not U-571).

OK I'm rambling now. Someone else can take over.

RE: What has been the general reaction of people...
Interesting...
USH never had this video sequence. The preshow was similar to the new 20th Anniversary preshow with Steven in the forest. I hated the remake 20th Anniversary video where they did not use a robot for ET, they just spliced in the old video from the original preshow...and very poorly!

But for me, this ride is just a memory :(
It's wierd to ride it in Flordia, because its so similar...yet I can tell the difference. It's like a step back in time...oh yeah, I am losing that attraction as well. :(:(
