Time for a change???

Time for a change???
I feel this area of the park is now part of the oldest and in most need of a change. The Marvel Mania store is not only a rehash of the resturant, but now poorly themed in the wrong area. The Animal theater, Wild West arena, and the Castle theater should be destroyed and rebuilt into state of the art theaters. It is very noticeable that these were main theaters for yesterday's Universal and they are not able to support the quality of today's audience. Every new show in the Castle has been a bomb since the departure of Beetlejuice and its because there are limitations to the building. Animal is still the same show with a new set redress. And don't get me started on Wild West...ugh! (Rumor) Dining Area!!!! What!!!

Universal, it is time to re-theme your park. Recreate the "Streets of the World" and bring continuity back to the Universal Entertainment Center. Continue to be the leader in entertainment shows with new theaters which can enhance the audience experience. Universal Studios Hollywood is the best theme park to show off the true nature of Hollywood. Let's bring it into the new millenium.

RE: Time for a change???
They're replacing the WWW arena for another restaurant? Seriously? If that's true, that means one less maze for HHN! Ugh!

I think I have a few ideas (just for fun) for what shows can go where:

-Have a Matrix: Revolutions overlay replacing T2:3D. This show would not return the climactic seat drops for the sake of structural concerns; however, there would be action-packed stunts to match-up with the 3D imagery. WaterWorld could be replaced by a new ride (Since the park needs an extra ride even after Transformers) and this would make up for it by being the big stunt show of the park (Cool fights on stage with Neo and the bad guys with back flips, hanging from death-defying places tying in with the 3D imagery and pyrotechnics.)

- A new show in the Animal Actors arena that would be called Beethoven's Big Adventure or something where the famous dog can help stop the bad guy or something. The show can try to appeal to the adults and not make it boring for the kids.

-SFX can stay the same for all I care. Since USH is a studio park, they need this to educate people "how they do that." They just need to change it up every so often.

Even though they may not be the best ideas, that's the best I can come up with.

RE: Time for a change???
I dont think that WW area will be changed into a restaurant. Thought T2 will be gone before waterworld and its not that its better but T2 is never up to standards. I hope if waterworld is taken out that another huge stage show can be built in another location.

RE: Time for a change???
I doubt they're concerned with adding any more restaurants to the park. Don't they have enough?

My best guess would be a new stage (best possibility) or newly themed area (most plausible possibility).

RE: Time for a change???
My post above was very old. Now with the elimination of the Wild West set, I am more concerned with where they are going with this area of the park. The street size between Shrek 4D and the gift shop is just far too small to accomodate an entire theme park crowd! Its poor design and very poor guest accomodations!
Demololish the Gift shop and retheme the carnival games into a new venue and place it on the old Western street which will not only generate more footspace, but more guests to walk through the game area. Duh!

RE: Time for a change???
I agree, the whole area was just poorly thought out. What else could they put in that area? Another western stunt show? Even if they did demolish the gift shop, it's still limited.

If anything, get rid of Animal Actors. It's a glaring hole that's been left untouched for years.

RE: Time for a change???
^we'll if they got ride of the Flintstones are along with the Wild West area/shrek shop you have room for a new ride (and if they make it two story it could be a good new ride)
Really the thing about Universal is they have good shows...I mean T2 and Shrek are god but rides usually are more poplar and don't get "out of style" as fast

RE: Time for a change???
Just saw the show again a few weeks ago, and it seemed like they made the show more succinct. Same acts, but simply condensed. Do they only do this during heavy crowds?
