Current state of T2 3D in Hollywood and Florida?
Hey i have a quick question regarding the current sate of T23D in Hollywood and Florida. I've been to the show a few times in my life, once in Florida and a handful of times in Hollywood.

I recently saw a video on youtube with part of the T23D attraction in Japan and to my suprise, during the first part of the show when Sarah fires at the screen and when the Terminator rides out on the motorcycle and shoots the T-1000 theirs fake sound effects for the guns instead of real gunpowder being used. It looked and sounded absolutely cheap and horrible, a complete downgrade.

Is this only in Japan? I'm hoping this isnt the case in Florida or Hollywood now, i plan on visiting the park again in the future and hope that gun powder is stull used for the guns on the ride.

Can anyone who has been on the ride in Hollywood recently confirm that they still use gunpowder, and does anyone know why the heck they use sound effects instead of gunpowder in Japan. This is my favorite ride of all time and taking away the gun powder really buchers the fantasy, and that thrill when Sarah or Arnold first fire their guns.

Thanks in advance
Cheers

Same question here.

As for the Hollywood version of T2, we've always used gunpowder and continue to do so (despite a few fires...). The only reason why'd we use the sound effects is that the guns are malfunctioning.

Do not fear, a nerd is here!

Japan has very strict gun laws prohibiting the use of real guns in certain situations.

Jon answered before me. If you notice Waterworld in Japan is the very same way. No real gunshots. I guess its something to be proud to be an American!?!?!?

Miami Vice was this way in the early 1990's in Hollywood.

Thanks for the response everyone. I'm really glad to here that this is only the case in Japan, what a shame because like i said in my first post, the real gunpowder gunfire really adds to the overall fantasy and realism of the ride.

Also in response to the youtube link, i don't have it at hand, but i randomly ran into it while surfing terminator 2 3d stuff, actually on youtube if you search T2 3D Japan, or Terminator 2 3D Japan, it will come up right away.

Whats also different about the Japan ride is that when the T-70's first come up a female computer voice says "Automatic targeting systems active, lock and load" but in Japan it seems they didnt translate that, so the women playing Kimberly has to say it. Also the actor playing the T-1000 seems to really not have the part down well, to expressive. It's just not the same.

Thanks god for the Hollywood and Florida versions. I can't wait to make another trip their sometime in the future, best ride in the world.

Thanks for the feedback again everyone.

Cheers
