Current State of the Studio Tour
I'm curious how Monday's tour will span out. Obviously New York street will be blocked off until reconstruction can be completed.

Any guesses on the new tram route?

RE: Current State of the Studio Tour
I can imagine the entire Front Lot and New York area to be closed. I feel the tram may circle back and go down the hill behind the backdrop and pick up the tour near the parting of the Red Sea. That may even be too close to the action!!!

I would not be surprised if we see barrier walls set up to block the view from guests.

I expect the tour to last a total of 25 min. Wow, that sucks!

We can imagine how much money Universal is losing over this...just imagine how many future films were probably planning to shoot here in the coming months and now it does not exist!!!

RE: Current State of the Studio Tour
I would like to know what damage was taken on the Fast and the Furious attraction? This had to be close to the heat.

Plus, with the entire New York area not accessible, will we have access to the Fast and the Furious area? Will we see this attraction anytime soon?

RE: Current State of the Studio Tour
Update to the thread (status as of 6/19/08)
-Fast and the Furious suffered no damage and is still accessible
-A guide announced that we should come back in 6-9 months once they've rebuilt
-Red Sea has been reopened
-Most of the debris has been sorted into smaller piles

Quick order of attractions as you go through the Tour
Movie posters
Stage 12
CSI sound stages and other stages
Writer bungalows
Debris from the fire/Construction site (they've put up green fences making it a bit harder to see, but still largely visible as you drive uphill)
Picture cars
Fast and the Furious
Little Mexico
Six Points Texas
Water Tank, Lagoon, Red Sea/Skull Island

and the rest is still about the same order

Do not fear, a nerd is here!

RE: Current State of the Studio Tour
They had a mini stunt demonstration set up on one of the western streets Friday when I went on. It was explained as rehersal for an upcoming western.

RE: Current State of the Studio Tour
I enjoyed the multiple street fights they have had on the tour over the years. I think they should be year round.
