Wild Rumor
Keep in mind that this is just a rumor and may or may not be true, but is making the rounds:

Terminator will close at the end of its contract (2 years) and due to the entire structure (Frankenstein parking and Terminator above) sinking into the hillside it will be reworked. Reworked in the sense of the Terminator building being torn down and possibly the parking structure as well.

Once again a wild rumor but...

RE: Wild Rumor
The contractor who designed the building should be sued. It's been what, ten years? And the building is already sinking into its foundation? Unacceptable.

Plus, who's bright idea was it to build the Coke Soak right on top of the crumbling structure?

RE: Wild Rumor
Remember they wanted to set BTTF on that parking structure. I wonder why they didn't! Terminator seemed to be better, but the Aquazone did not help things.

It would be sad to see T2 disappear. I enjoyed this attraction from day 1 in Orlando. I was very happy USH got it.

RE: Wild Rumor
cant they just demolish and reconstruct the parking structure, giving it reinforcement and then building a new and improved terminator building? sure it will cost alot but thats one less ride (good ride) for an already small park

That just isn't very cost efficient. Knowing NBC Universal and their frugal habits, it'll be the last thing on their minds once they remove Terminator.

The park has the room. It's just not being used effectively.

RE: Wild Rumor
*gasp* That would really suck if it's true. People would lose their jobs.... again. Plus our 10 year anniversary is next year.
Reinforcing the structure is possible, but costly. I think it goes like this:
You would have to reinforce the area around the post, destroy parts or all of the existing column piece by piece, then reinforce it with new rebar and a different concrete mix. Then we might have to consider the possibly increased weight from the new material.... And consider how we would get the equipment into the garage. And blah, blah, blah. lol XD

..........Can someone point me in the direction of the cracks in the garage? I park there all the time and haven't really noticed them. :/

Do not fear, a nerd is here!

RE: Wild Rumor
^Apparently its not cracks, but the whole structure is sinking. They hardly let us park on level one because apparently you can see its sinking down there.
