Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Last weekend was actually the first time I've ever tried to take the subway to Universal from downtown LA. Definitely an interesting solution, and cost effective at that.

They really need to retrofit the shuttles though. The old studio tour trams aren't cutting it. Americans are heavier than they were twenty or thirty years ago.

Ah the ol' 3-Car Shuttle can still moan, groan and puff it's way to the top of the hill with the best of them!

Actually there's an even older one than the one you have pictured, and it's my favorite! It's got much comfier bench like seating, seems to have more leg room too, and best of all, it's the quietest of the lot of them!

That said, I mostly walk the hill. It's just easier than waiting for silly thing to get there... until you get about half way up, and start moving as slow as the shuttle, panting twice as much! :P

I might of saw it. Does it have a gray and blue color scheme?

Yes, it does. They also added bike racks to the front of it.

I always use the Universal Metro lot to park and take the subway from there anytime I need to get around Hollywood, LA, or even as far as Pasadena. I love taking the subway, just wish it went more places.

I took this shuttle for over two months when I lost my car and had to take public transportation. Sometimes, if you visit the park on weekends, you can park for free in the Metro parking lot and save $11 on parking. Been there, done that.

However, one time the shuttle had to be towed up the hill, these trams seem to have a tough time on that hill.

I think the tram should pick up across the street at the Metro station and get a running start at that hill instead of starting at the bottom of it. Plus it would stop all of the foot traffic crossing the street.

Just my two cents.

As nice as that would be, I'm certain those trams are not road legal :)

Yeah, I thought about that. What ever happened to Universal being green???
