Grinchmas 2008

Just thought I'd share with you guys a the few pictures I got to take during my break of the first day of Grinchmas at USH. I unfortunately didn't get to see the big show/tree lighting ceremony. :(
From what little I saw, it looks like USH did a pretty good job. I definitely want to bring my family before the event's over.

Video of the general area. They changed Curious George into this thing. Everything but the wet playground is open, and I believe the Christmas tree is built around/on the rocket.

So as stated before the tree is around the rocket-but if you didn't
know that a rocket is there its unnoticeable. The water part of Curious George is blocked by huge illustrations of christmas. The toddler playground and ball room are still open though.

The snow looks real and is refreshed every so often. To do this they have a commercial snow making machine. I was disappointed that they have a regular looking truck parked on stage to support the snow making. They put a whoville logo on the side of it, but it still is bad show.

There is a cast of whos roaming the area and the grinch and dog max are available for photos.

On the studio tour another cast of whos and the grinch and max preform a 2 min musical number for the tram when you get to whoville.

The tree lighting is a longer musical number up at curious george.

There is also a motorcade during the day and a crafts tent with cookie decorating and face painting.

Looks like they finally took advantage of the holiday season. It's been a while since they've introduced events such as these to the parks. Glad they're finally doing this.

I've enabled the YouTube plugin by the way. It should work now.

I hope I'll have more time this week to actually enjoy the events. I want to see what's going on at the tour and grab more pics and vids. I want to meet the Grinch at the Whos even though I found them kind of at first. lol

Well, yesterday was packed. I've never seen the Studio Tour queue backed up all the way to the entrance. Wait time was around an hour long. Unbelievable.

By the way, anyone visit Mt. Crumpit Cookies and Craft? I can't stomach going in there for some reason. LOL.

I think an improvement needs to be made to the snow area for next year. If your not allowed to throw the snow what exactly do you do with
it? They should use the wild wild west arena and make a sled type of attraction plus a specific area just for snowball fights. But beside that Grinchmas was great! I really loved the who makeup and almost every
attraction had something Christmasy. Even the House of Horrors.
