Trip to Orlando and USH
In anticipation of the next space shuttle launch I am planning a last minute trip to Orlando. I must see a launch in my lifetime! I do plan to go to Universal Orlando while I am there.
Once I get home just in time for my birthday, I plan to go to USH on March 2. Any requests from the community at either park? ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |

Some pictures of the Simpsons ride over at Florida would be nice.
Have a good time there. Where's the launch going to be in comparison to your hotel room?

RE: Trip to Orlando and USH
Well, the shuttle was delayed again, so my trip to Orlando will be on hold. I do plan to go in April, and that trip is guaranteed.
Kennedy Space Center is one hour east of Orlando. I will not be in my hotel room when the launch takes place. ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |

RE: Trip to Orlando and USH
To piggyback on your thread, I'll be at Universal Orlando next weekend, (finally! I've been planning since Thanksgiving.) Do you guys know of any out-of-the-way eateries or shows in the parks that are particularly good that might normally be passed by? For those that have gone before, what is one thing that I should not miss?

For those that have gone before, what is one thing that I should not miss? This really depends on what park you are going to and what you are looking for. If you want a nice meal for the high price in Islands of Adventure, go to Mythos Resturant located in the Lost Continent. Do not miss Poseidon's Fury (great experience, average ending), The Amber Mines in Jurassic Park are fun but steer clear of the Pteranadon Flyers. The Entire park is really a treat as it still feels very new for only being 10 years old. DO NOT MISS Spiderman at all costs! But save it for the end of your day. Universal Florida also has its great points. Do not miss Men In Black, but make sure there is a good line before riding. If the line is short or non existant, then the quality of the ride will suffer. JAWS is my personal favorite as long as everything works. The design of the ride is great and the behind the scenes info is fascinating. Go to amityboattours.com or amityisland.net. I enjoy Mel's Diner, much different from USH. Skip Terminator, its old, go to USH. Mummy is very different from ours, make sure you pay attention to the story in the queue. Twister is a different twist (lol) but slightly worth it. Shrek is lame compared to USH, Jimmy Neutron is young. ET has great USH memories, but old. I have not seen their Simposns or the update to Earthquake. |

Thank you very much for the advice. I was unsure about whether to go to some of the USF/USH overlap attractions (I was just at USH on Sunday) and I appreciate the heads up.

RE: Trip to Orlando and USH
My Orlando trip is coming up in three weeks. Does anyone have any information about the new roller coaster at Universal Florida? What is the opening date? Will it be open to the public before April 7? Anyone have any info or pics?
