What were they, specifically? IOA's version seems really wide open, and it doesn't immense you like Hollywood does. It's definitely not as loud and in your face.

I think that's a pretty high contributor. If you've ever noticed Waterworld's speakers on the left hand side of the arena, you'll see how they're almost replaced on a yearly basis. Meanwhile, the rest of the sound system mainly stays intact.

I mean, look at the photos.

I would hate to be the sound engineer at any of these attractions. Replacing things day in and day out.

There is added audio in between the Brachiosaurs and the Stegosaurus Springs. The audio speaks about the creatures on the left of the boat before the waterfall and mention triceratops.

Of course the audio was completly redone for Orlando. With the exception of some added material, they kept the same script.

I do agree with the wide open parts of IOA where there seem to be dead spots because the attraction is so large. I guess it pays to have a smaller attraction sometimes!

I agree not having carbon copies. That is what makes it so difficult to like one over the other. In the past I always liked our T Rex in the finale, but I must say that Orlando's animatronics are very nice. I like the scare factor for ours, but it does not have a good success rate. Plus USH T Rex movements do not match the audio quite like IOA. However, we have two T Rex's in our attraction... I could go on and on...

Since we're all talking about Jurassic Park in a Terminator topic, I will add my 2 cents. Why is it that in Orlando, Jurassic Park is not included in Universal Studios but in Islands of Adventure? I visited only Universal studios in Orlando, so never saw the jurassic park attraction over there. I will only see it in Universal Studios Hollywood.

I figure that it's because JP is more adventurous as IOA consists of more thrilling rides than IOA. After reading several Wikipedia articles, I imagine it's because JP fit more with IOA's theme of going on a 'journey of exploration.' It's also probably a way the Universal could maximize its profit from JP as JP has its own 'island' in IOA and consists of other JP themed attractions. (Edit: From Wiki article under Altered Concepts - "Originally, Universal creative consultant Steven Spielberg had wanted to make Universal Orlando's second gate entirely Jurassic Park, and would be the same size as Islands of Adventure, but instead featuring only dinosaur and Jurassic Park-themed attractions.")
.....I want to go back to USO. I didn't get to see everything, especially T2. :(

Hey, to those who have recently been to Terminator, does this look like an accurate representation of the seating arrange in the theater?



I'm having a real hard time trying to remember the layout of things.

add more seats in the front. the stationary seats are broken sections of seats. the rows become shorter as you go forward. think of the room as traingle shaped with the room narrower in the front and larger in the back.
