What do you do before you go to Universal?

Any tips or habits you go through before you go to Universal, let alone any theme park?

For me, I love to travel light. Phone and camera and perhaps a memory card or two are the most I'll bring. I really hate having to carry a bag of any sorts.

I always eat a big breakfast before I go. Its only extra cash leaving my pocket if I have to buy breakfast at the park. In any case, I always stick to a very similar routine when I arrive to the park. Many times I will go a different route or park somewhere else just to have a new feeling of excitement. Always charge the cameras the night before. Bring sunscreen in the summer. If I am not short for cash, I will stay and have dinner in Citywalk after we leave the park.

Get up, eat and shower, then leave for the park and try to get to the park in the first hour of it being open. Also don't bring a bag, the lines get WAY too long.

I did something pretty stupid when I didn't bother to bring my own water bottle last Sunday. Nearly died of dehydration, but I still wasn't willing to pay park prices for water.

Boy, did it get hot. Was planning to go this Wednesday again for more photos, but the long lines and hot weather really didn't seem appealing.

I used to buy water at the parks. Expensive. Stopped that and brought my own water, but I hated carrying around a bottle. Now, I just ask for big cups of water at various restaurants. Free and I don't have to carry anything!
