Noise Complaints
From Screamscape Wrote:One of our local sources sent in a copy of a neighborhood letter sent out to the residents one the “Hollywood Knolls Community Club”. This is one of those annoying neighbors who set themselves up on the hillside overlooking the Universal backlot, and then complains long and loud about all the noise and commotion going on down there, like it’s a big surprise to them or something. Unfortunately, this time it looks like they’ve chosen to target Halloween Horror Nights, which they describe as being an “ongoing annoyance”.

The letter describes talks with the studio / theme park and has resulted in a noise hotline being set up (manned 24/7) to handle the complaints and as far as HHN goes, they will “elimination of the “Waterworld” segment as well as the ‘Sheet Maze” from the War of the Worlds set. Chain Saw buzzing will also be cut back 60% from the areas closest to Blair Drive (which seems to run as the closest street overlooking the backlot area over War of the Worlds / Psycho House, and everything else on this side of the backlot.)

You know, it’s times like this that make me wonder why the Universal Backlot really caught on fire two years ago… and somehow this neighborhood was spared.

Give me a break. Like Universal suddenly popped up in their backyard one day and started filming.

RE: Noise Complaints
I love the waterworld part.....the show has not played at HHN for 2 years. They took out one of the best parts of the Tram Maze, the sheet maze, it had 2 paths meaning you need to do the ride twice to experience the entire maze.

RE: Noise Complaints
Sometimes I wonder why they chose that location in the first place. Sounds like they like to whine for the sake of whining.

RE: Noise Complaints
here's an idea for WaterWorld. Have WaterWorld one week and then SlaughterWorld the next and keep switching each week.

RE: Noise Complaints
Before taking formal steps in complaining about a noise it is recommended that you attempt to contact your neighbour to discuss the problem and an appropriate resolution. This may require that you tactfully bring the complaint to your neighbours notice when issues are sensitive, such as raised voices.

Exhaust fans and air conditioners have the potential to cause an intrusive type of sound due to their particular tone. Time restrictions are in place for the operation of residential air conditioners and their use is not allowed between 10pm to 7am daily and 10pm to 8am on weekends and public holidays.

If you are unable to resolve the matter by talking with your neighbour, a complaint or request can be made to the City of Sydney's 24 hour complaint line on 02 9265 9333. It is important to relay all details of your complaint, including action already taken and the offending property address when complaining to the City of Sydney to assist its Officers when dealing with your complaint.

RE: Noise Complaints
The Terror Tram lines closes at 9pm on Thursday and Sundays during HHN this year. I suspect this is related to the noise complaints?
