T2 Shut Down
T2 Was shut down today because there was smoke emitting from the theater that couldn't be found at first but then later was caught creeping out of the Sound Rack Room. No word if the attraction will be shut down for a while or extended period of time. No fire was spotted so im guessing short was caught in the nick of time.

RE: T2 Shut Down
Wow, interesting how an amplifier would do that. Where did you get this information, if you don't mind me asking?

RE: T2 Shut Down
Seems very, very odd that an amplifier would simply go up in smokes. Terminator isn't that old of an attraction in Hollywood, so something must have contributed to the malfunction.
Just seems out of the blue.

RE: T2 Shut Down
Hello,
From my findings it seems that the T: 2 3D opened in 1999. I would guess that they are still using the original amplifiers. A pro series amplifier can last 15-20 years if maintained and kept clean. That being said I repair a lot of amplifiers. They can get stop working for a whole number of reason. If they get wet, if there is a power surge, if the speaker or speaker line has a short. Or if the amplifier is driven to hard for too long. We in the repair world like to call them ampli-fire's. Oh they also can just have bad comments and this to of course can cause premature failure. Which is my guess what happened here. There is a lot of high voltage power moving around in an amplifier so when they go, there is usually lots of smoke or sometimes fire. Hope this helps |
