When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
This show has been around for, what? Over fifteen years? The show seems pretty outdated and just "filler" to me. It'd be great if, after Transformers, they use the big space WW is for a new ride.
Now if they were to use that space for a new ride, what could it be? Maybe the Ghostbusters ride that was originally planned for Universal Dubailand before the project got scrapped? "The only thing to fear is fear itself..." -Fredy Kruger

I vote for a new live stunt show based after a newer movie. Because with waterworld gone and soon to be gone terminator, this will leave the park without a stunt show. And live shows is really what USH is known for not so much trill rides like Orlando. But I am open to a possible new ride depending on what it is.

RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
Ghostbusters seems very irrelevant nowadays and won't pull in the same crowds as something new and fresh.
When it comes to replacements, I think USH should stick to their core strength - which would be live production stunt shows. USO has the rides covered, so I think there needs to be a differential theme between the two parks. Like gforce mentioned, without WaterWorld, we're left without a major live action stunt show. T2:3D is borderline, since it comes 3D effects with live actors - but nothing to the scale of the Wild Wild West Stunt Show and WaterWorld.

RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
FYI, the third Ghostbusters film comes out either next year or 2012.
Even though Hollywood may be more well-known for its shows, I think management may see that ride would be the main draw for their park after seeing the crowds that have come for King Kong (Highest attendance rating since when JP: The Ride opened. Just imagine what it will be like when Transformers opens). However, there is that issue of absorbing as many people as they can. So maybe they will opt to replace it with a new stunt show. RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
Ghotbusters in outdated and a new movie doesn't mean a good movie. As you can see from RHoop comment the highest ratings have been to the NEW attractions. They need to stop rethemeing and start building a new. People don't like Simpson's as much because the ride is to similar to BTTF ride. I think that Wild West area will become and area for a new show. Adding a ride in this area would congest the traffic in the main part of the park. And from what i hear Waterworld will be the area dedicated to a new ride.

RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
^It would be cool to have a cool new stunt show go where WWW was to make up for WaterWorld going for a ride, if that happens, but the only thing that would concern me would be where could the make-up space for that maze location during HHN be? I guess from the deconstruction of the WWW arena, I think it's clear that we will never see another show there again.

RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
I think if they really wanted to find an area for HHN, they definitely could. That's not really a concern compared to a full fledged attraction that will be running on a yearly basis.
If anything, I hope they use the WWW stunt show area as something new and different. A new ride could perhaps work, but nothing else would likely fit. I doubt we'll see any large scale shows in that area for a long time.

RE: When will WaterWorld finally meet its demise?
I like the idea of keeping Waterworld venue as a show, but I am afraid that the land required for today's audience is huge. I was amazed at the USH response to Transformers on how they are building up instead of out.
Wild West can become a new show or a small ride, that I can see. As for the maze for HHN, they used level 7 of the Frankenstein Parking lot before, why not use it again? ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |
