Jimmy Fallon – New Video Host of World-Famous Studio Tour
Quote:Universal City, California — Hollywood’s longest-running hit is about to get a rousing re-make.

The Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, which has taken over 150 million visitors behind the scenes of the movie and television industry’s biggest hits, will introduce a new video “host” this spring as comedian Jimmy Fallon, star of NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” becomes the ride’s “virtual Studio Tour Guide.” Jimmy will be introducing a series of videos that will be seen on the Hi Definition monitors located in each Tram car to augment the “live” narration provided by Universal Studios Hollywood’s tour guides.

Has it been that long since the last host was introduced? I respect Fallon for what he does, but he just looks awkward and uncomfortable on stage.

Not sure if he'll fit the tour, but I'll reserve further judgement till I see him in action.

To be honest I really didn't care for Whoopi. And it didn't really seem there was that many clips used during the tour. Which I kinda perfer because I think the TV screens should just show movie clips to show what movies certain sets were used for. So you can spend more time looking around the backlot rather than the TV screen.

I'd still take Whoopi over Jimmy Fallon. He's just not funny to me, and not entertaining to me at all for that matter. The clips are pretty underused anyway. I think the giant poster of Whoopi on the escalator down has more face time than Whoopi in the clips. Last few times I've been, I honestly only remember seeing Whoopi in one video clip, when we were in Six Points. The one exception was my recent visit two weeks ago, when we had to pause the tour due to Housewives filming on the Wisteria Lane set. Then they put up the silent videos for a few minutes where she's holding up placards explaining the silence.

RE: Jimmy Fallon – New Video Host of World-Famous Studio Tour
Lets see the only clips I remeber are 1) intro, 2) six points, 3) falls lake, 4) mummy scene, 5) closing, and 6) filming is progress clip. And they weren't all used for every tour. Was there any other ones?

After seeing the Conan O'Brien episode where he was the tour guide. To bad he isn't with NBC anymore, or else they could have had him be the virtual host.

Ok so whoppi's clips were rarely used anymore most time was just the mummy tunnel bit. Back when it started there was lots more interaction with guides and clips. I think jimmy will be great kinda weird but great. nbcUniversal is really trying to push there nbc names into universal. Even know Channel 4 news Sports desk is the "Universal Studios Hollywood Sports desk" The logo is shown the entire segment. Has anyone else seen this?

RE: Jimmy Fallon – New Video Host of World-Famous Studio Tour
Bitterness about Conan's departure put aside, I can't recall a tour where I haven't seen one of Whoopi's video segments, so to see Fallon on almost every tour...well...

Like I said, I'll reserve some judgement, but Conan could have been an excellent addition to the tour if they hadn't treated him the way they did. A lot of lost potential.

Saw the new Virtual Tour guide Jimmy Fallon today his bits were entertaining. and at east today Whoppi was still being used not going to say where because she might still be apart of the tour. Great tram song at the end to close the tour. LOL
Also just heard from a friend that they are filming something with jimmy Fallon in front of the park right now. For either the tour or the press release or even a commercial.
