April 29th Trip Report

It was a pretty slow day in the early morning last Friday, and picked up around midday. Wait times never went over 30 minutes for anything, including the Simpsons and the Tour. The Jaws portion of the Tour was closed on our ride through (we went on first thing at opening, so around 9:15), and the live Norman Bates actor did not make an appearance, which was also pretty sad. They did however put the smashed tram car back in front of the collapsing bridge - it had been missing from the entrance for about a month or two:



Didn't really pick up many pictures this time, but did focus on getting a few close shots of Transformers. The interior structure is really coming along it looks like, and the workers were very busy hauling beams to the rooftop. The elevator shaft looks like it's just about ready to stick a car in. I'm not much of an engineer, so maybe some of you guys can understand what's happening from these pictures more than I can!















And of course, a trip to Universal for me would be incomplete without running into my Ghost with the Most.



I finally caught the tail end of the Character Jam, which still managed to be better than the pale imitation of the Graveyard Revue they try to run in Florida. This shot of Mr. Mummy pretty much sums up my face when I think of the Florida version:



I think I'm going again this Friday, so we'll see if anything new develops with the Transformers construction in that time. Till next time!

Man, those actors really deserve some props for performing in that scorching heat. I wish they could at least provide some shade, but given the area - I guess this was the best they could do.
