Volunteering at Special Effects Stage

Does anybody know how the volunteers for the Special Effects Stage show are picked?

I'd love to get to volunteer to be astronaut even if you don't really get to fly around.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all the volunteers are selected before the show starts. If you want a part, I suggest you get there early and find a seat where the hosts can easily see you.

You are correct. I normally see them pick guests as they come in near the center of the theater at the beginning of loading. They seat the volunteers in the first row of the section near the stage manager's booth.

The astronaut is always picked as part of a couple. they also pick by size - at least if they can. it depends on who the "Jerry" is that day. so when the host asks for a couple jump up and make yourself known. the first and last show of the day are least crowded.

I know this is off topic, but I was wondering if you could help me out. The audio system used at the Special Effects Stage - what brand is it? I just noticed how they were unusually small and spread out and wondered who was behind it all.

Are you asking about the speakers? Or the system that runs the audio in the theater?

The actual speakers themselves. Never seen anything like it.
