Being King Cheap at USH
Hey guys, great site you have going on over here. I'm taking a good friend of mine to USH for her bday at the end of the month and want to spend as little as possible. What tips do you have for me that can help me achieve my goal?

Eat a big breakfast before you arrive. If you want to eat lunch on site, eat at the CityLoft on the second level of Citywalk. But be reminded, this will take out outside the park and you will lose time when you have to re-enter. Do not go downstairs on a hungry stomach, its too far of a walk to get out of the park. If you live in SoCal, take any SoCal disount that you can for admission. Sometimes, this admission price may only be online.

I agree with the CityWalk technique - definitely. Avoid park food at all costs. Water, burgers, fries - all insanely overpriced.

I'd also check to see if the Coke bottles are offering any sort of promotions as well as local newspapers.

Good luck.

Coke product cans are advertising the 15 dollars off general admission promo right now. Make sure you definitely eat at CityWalk like the guys have already said. And if you can avoid driving and parking up there, you may even want to consider taking the train in. My boyfriend and I take the Blue Line to the Red Line both trips, both ways for a 6$ day pass instead of spending all the money on gas in LA traffic.

I have done the Blue/Red line experience and it is not bad. Sometimes in the summer, waiting for the tram to go up the hill can really suck. I have also had a tram break down, which really made it worse.

Personally, I don't recommend the Metro route at all. When the day is over, waiting for a tram and heading over to the station can be exhausting. I'd rather cough up the 15 bucks and park relatively close to the park.

RE: Being King Cheap at USH
I don't even bother waiting on the tram some nights, because it does get VERY crowded. It's not that bad of a downhill walk. Plus, when you factor in gas money depending on where you're going back to plus getting up, it can be a good deal of money saved. To each their own I guess. In my case I'm a poor college student, so the money matters more. But if the money isn't an issue, just get there early enough to get a parking space, because it WILL fill up fast later in the day with all the shoppers and the dinner crowds.
