June 17th & 22nd Trip Report Part 2

Hey everyone. As I was uploading pics from my most recent trip this past Tuesday, I realized I never updated my trip report from the last time! So here's the pics from the 22nd. I'll churn out a trip report for my trip on July 26th after this.

Anyway, June 22! -

Back at Transformers, I managed to get a shot of the Backdraft sign, clearer this time, but not as close.



At the Universal Experience, I saw this very cool magazine page that George Lucas took out to honor Steven Spielberg for his success with ET:





Finally saw a different guy dressed as a statue - he had a distinct style that was pretty neat to see:





Something I had NEVER seen before was this Dino Adventure Team or however they're called. They drove out with this jeep with the little puppet raptor on it. It was really cool.





And I took a parting shot of a stegosaurus on my 3rd round with Jurassic Park that day. Always nice to end with a dinosaur.



All in all, it was a great trip, and it was still just before tourist season really took off. My trip on July 26th however....now THAT is a different story entirely.

Wow, thanks for sharing! Interesting how the Backdraft signs are still there. Wondering if they're willing to part with one...

Great posts and pics. I was there on July 16 and the Backdraft Sign was still in place. Also if you want a different angle on the old Backdraft queue, try the exit on the back side of UH Experience. It’s seems to be an easy was around the guard who blocks the construction site.

Does anyone know what they're planning to do with the Backdraft queue? Are they planning to reuse the existing queue structure with Transformers?

I remember as the tram was passing by, things seemed relatively untouched.

I'd imagine it will be part of Transformers queue, if not the main then the extended queue.

I tried the exit to the UE before, I just didn't think to do it again that trip. I'll try next week. When I was there during the week the guards were gone - maybe I caught them between shifts. I want that sign so bad, I just probably don't have the money to pay for one...I miss Backdraft.

It did look like it was untouched for the most part, if anything I only saw a few poles moved for the lunch benches for the construction workers.

I beleive that the Backdraft queue is scheduled to become part of the Transformers queue. I was also told that there will be an indoor queue on level 1 (underground) where the loading of the ride will be. So, even though the building is 3 stories, with one story underground, the actual ride will be mostly on the other two levels. Makes sense that most of the queue will be inside.
