My Dream USH...
One can dream can't we? I would pay $80 to enter this park! Someone get this into the hands of someone important at USH!

RE: My Dream USH...
As much as I love the layout, I'm still afraid that there's too many similarities with our sister park in Florida. I hate beating my own drum, but I cannot stress the importance of maintaining two separate identities. With the exception of the Studio Tour or perhaps even the Special Effects Stage, most of the attractions you have listed above can be seen at Florida and Japan.
There needs to be something new and fresh that other parks don't have. Something unique and purely Hollywood, though I know that's often times easier said than done. I'm just afraid of the trend of simply maintaining carbon copies in both Hollywood and Florida. Quite frankly, it gives me no incentive to travel to other Universal properties. I think Harry Potter is a tremendous undertaking and I'm all for the success it has received, but I'm against the notion of bringing it to Hollywood - along with the removal of a Universal staple for yet another Potter experience. Isn't one Islands of Adventure land enough? But back to Hollywood, I think the removal of WaterWorld is inevitable in the near future. If we're going that route, we should probably also remove Shrek 4D and perhaps even the Blues Brothers - though that stage shouldn't take that much space. Terminator should also be on the watch for something bigger.

RE: My Dream USH...
I agree with carbon copies. I like having an alternative experience. I also understand the high dollar price tag on this stuff and making copies of attractions are much cheaper than building something new. I agree with Potter, I dont think we need it here. But if you look at the turnstile jump they had in Orlando, of course the greedy people of Hollyowood will take that safe bet. Its sad, but safe.
I just felt there were a few cheap kids rides we could easily add to the park to make USH more kid friendly. Plus off set the $79 park admission with more rides, even if they were small. I also felt that some of these areas have dead space where there could be entertainment. ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |

Jon,
What are your thoughts on removing the building on Western Street? I like the idea of opening that area up for guest flow. ![]() USH Employee 1998-2003 Show Host Lead (all shows) BTTF The Ride, T2:3-D, Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Chicken Run, The Grinch, The Mummy Returns, Starway Escalator, Special Effect Stages. |

RE: My Dream USH...
Interesting concept map. I love the idea of having the Ptyranodon Flyers on the lower lot. That will probably never happen because of the studio and all that...however, they could still do it if they put a glass shield over the restrains or something.
Turning House of Horrors into Despicable Me would not at all be worth it for USH. Yes, it is a big franchise that is their own property, but they would possibly have to restructure/gut everything in the building to make the ride fit. Interesting idea, but I would rather that they just keep House of Horrors since it's the only place I can get my Haunt fix year-round every day of the year. I would just change up some of the rooms, but work out something to where it could be a descent overlay for HHN as well. It would be nice to see this replace Shrek, but due to the fact that its shorter and would not hold as many people as Shrek, I don't think that would be an option. They could also replace Shrek with a 4D show based on the upcoming Woody Woodpecker film. I am honestly not that ecstatic about putting Cat in the Hat where Wild West is. They need that space for HHN. Plus, they use it for Grinchmas and other special events, so I don't think that should go. WaterWorld has a prime chunk of real estate and could be used for a much-needed new ride. Well, another ride won't be so critical with another ride, but USH could definitely use a sixth E-Ticket (Excluding the tour). USH needs another ride to be unique from Orlando, so I think a trackless Ghostbusters interactive dark ride would be a nice fit--that is, assuming the upcoming third installment does well. I would have the SES show be turned into something like The Universal Monster Effects show or something like that. It could be a combination of the "How-do-we-do-that" show that is essential for the studio vibe of the park and some sort of horror show to make it more interesting. The Animal Actors stage could be replaced by a Bourne stunt show or something like that. It wouldn't be on the scale with car chases and things of that nature, but if they expanded the stage where the animal shelter is now, they could make it work. It could just be a show with stunts and shoot outs like the Wild West show. I think the Wild West building should stay. Without the building, the park would just be one big open space that would look a bit bare and tacky--I say let it stay. Terminator and all of the rides can stay. That's just my two cents.
