Technical difficulties
Quote:Have you had any technical difficulties when riding ROTM?

For me, most definitely. After riding and riding over and over again, you most likely going to experience some kind of breakdown. I’ve seen the infamous “No connection screen” on the projection, stuck for whatever reasons in various parts of the ride, and witnessed many malfunctions.

RE: Technical difficulties
All the time, every time. I don't think I have ever had a perfect ride.

RE: Technical difficulties
Really? I’ve had my fair share of problems, but they for the most part work accordingly. The only sequence of the ride that’s probably for most part down is the dropping warriors, specifically the one on the left. And the occasional backup at the loading station.

RE: Technical difficulties
One thing that comes to mind is the curtain that is suppose to hide the final scene from the loading area. I haven't seen that work since the preview days. Mostly, the ride gets backed up, the falling mummies aren't working, projections not projecting, no music, and no fog effect at the end. Always, one of those are things seem to happen on every ride I am on. I have yet to experience a 100% perfect ride.

RE: Technical difficulties
The curtain hasn't been working either for me. The mist and fog always work though, in my case. In times of backup, when one tram moves into the ride sequence, the other trains would move up if as nothing happened, and the steam and fog would continue their roles.

Could be the mummy's curse. :P

RE: Technical difficulties
On the east coast, I biggest glitch was aways the wall closing up. Other than that. It's been perfect everytime.

Seems like they've gone through and added (and fixed) effects on the ride. The curtain was working for the first time in a year. Projectors (Just like the Studio Tour reported) were added, though they weren't implemented correctly. You could still see the black outline of a projection screen. The queue closed captioning projection was also adjusted.

RE: Technical difficulties
I was at Universal Orlando in January and I noticed the first mummy was replaced with a sarcophagus with a video hitting the lid instead of the mummy that pops out of the sarcophagus and tells you he wants your sole. Do you think they could not maintain the animatronics so they use the video or do you think they just use the video when they are repairing the animatronic mummy?
