After 18 years, Shrek 4D officially closed its doors for the final time on Sunday, January 9th, 2022. The final send-off was a bit delayed as the ride has some technical issues right before the park closed at 7. Luckily, Universal TMs knew there was a big crowd of Shrek fans that wanted to say their last goodbyes and were able to get off 2 more shows despite it being after park hours. Revenge of the Mummy has officially closed for scheduled maintenance at Universal Studios Florida. Construction walls were set up overnight blocking off the entrance courtyard, signaling the start of the project, which is expected to last into the Summer. No other details have been given or what exactly the refurbishment will entail other than a “Late Summer 2022” reopening date.
