Universal Orlando has announced dates for 2024’s Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval, running daily from February 3 through April 7, 2024. The parkwide celebration will transform Universal Studios Florida into Florida’s biggest party, complete with cuisine inspired by Carnaval celebrations from around the world – plus a lively parade filled with vibrant floats where partygoers can catch beads by the handful. And on select nights, guests can cap the festivities with live concerts by top names in music. Universal Orlando has officially started using Photo Validation Facial Recognition for ticket entry at Islands of Adventure. Universal is touting the new validation as a “faster way” to enter the parks. Guests approach the turnstile to get their tickets scanned and wait for the camera to scan their face. The first visit will require your photo to be taken, but subsequent visits will allow a quicker entry once the photo is in the system. Once the scan is validated, you enter the park. Guests can opt out of the process but will be required to present a valid photo ID…

Universal Destinations & Experiences has revealed the name of the company’s first-ever permanent horror experience: Universal Horror Unleashed. The new concept – to be located at AREA15 in Las Vegas – will offer next-level immersive experiences in an all-new format, with horror-centric experiences that will surround “eerie eateries” and “bone-chilling” bar areas.
