Due to the looming threat of Hurricane Ian, Universal Orlando has announced operational changes and closures for Wednesday and Thursday. All 3 parks and CityWalk will be closed fully closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29. In addition, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida will also be cancelled Wednesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Sept. 29. Per Universal, on-site hotels are currently at full capacity and will remain operational to focus on taking care of their on-site guests. Universal Orlando Resort has debuted a brand-new street show at Universal Studios Florida – “¡Vamos! – Báilalo”. The show debuts just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month, and will continue beyond per Universal. The show’s title translates in English roughly to “Let’s Go and Dance”. The high-energy Latin dance experience features a classic look and modern musical flair as a dozen dancers take to the streets for an energetic 12-minute performance, and is very reminiscent of “In the Heights” with a little “West Side Story” style. Halloween Horror Nights has returned to Universal Studios Hollywood, and this year truly feels like Hollywood is going all in. “This year, we’re just kind of going mad.” John Murdy, Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights Creative Director, made this comment during our behind-the-scenes previews a couple of weeks ago. Murdy explained, “In 2020, we had a whole event. Universal Orlando Resort and DreamWorks Animation is inviting families to show off their best “kitty cat moves” with Gabby from the hit Netflix series, Gabby’s Dollhouse, at a Cat-tastic Dance Party. Families can join series star Laila Lockhart Kraner and enjoy their favorite songs from the DreamWorks Animation show, including “Sprinkle Party” and “Hey, Gabby! while they learn some dance steps along with Gabby and her friends on Saturday, September 24 at Universal Studios Florida.
