Here’s a look around at what’s happening at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, from January 9, 2022, to January 15, 2023.

Universal Orlando

You have one week left to enjoy DreamWorks Destination, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, Fievel’s Playground, Curious George Goes to Town, and the Shrek Meet & Greet before they all close on Jan 15, 2023.

Refurbishments

Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida is still in Technical Rehearsal and may operate on a limited, unscheduled basis. There is no word as to when the ride will “officially” reopen.

Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure is closed for its annual Winter refurbishment. The ride is expected to reopen on February 4, 2023.

Kopiko Wai Winding River at Volcano Bay is closed for refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen on February 15, 2023.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Animal Actors, the Special Effects Show, and the Production Central store permanently closed yesterday, January 8, 2023. No details have been given other than the area is closing to make way for a “future attraction”.

Pass Member Reservations for Super Nintendo World will open for registration starting on Jan 9, 2023, at 11 am PST. Reservations are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will open here.

Refurbishments

  • Flight of the Hippogriff remains closed. There is no word as to why the attraction closed or when the ride will reopen.
