New Version of “Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue” Premieres!

After a brief absence, Beetlejuice and the Universal Monsters return for an all-new version of “Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue”.

Compared to previous versions of the show, the current performance gets right into the singing and dancing, and the Monsters take on a bigger role compared to “B to the Juice”. In fact, BJ’s role as bio-exorcist prankster has been toned downed in comparison to before. Other changes include the inclusion of 4 “ghost/zombie” dancers, and the removal of Hip and Hop, Beetlejuice’s ghoul cheerleaders. Also, the Monsters are already in the form of their “rock star” personas, instead of being transformed by BJ.

Joining the cast for the “Graveyard Mash-up” is Cleopatra, a semi-Mummy representation; and Phantasia, representing the Phantom of the Opera, but as a DJ.

The 20 min show features an all new song set list:

    • Let’s Go Crazy
    • Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
    • Walk Like An Egyptian
    • Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
    • Doctor Feelgood/Welcome to the Jungle
    • Feed My Frankenstein
    • What I Like About You/You Really Got Me
    • Smooth Criminal/Sweet Dreams Mashup
    • Ballroom Blitz/Let’s Go Crazy Mashup

At one point, Beetlejuice “possesses” the Monsters to do a little number. Some may feel a bit cheated as a “Thriller” dance  is teased, but ultimately jumps into another song.

All in all, the show is a definite improvement compared to the previous version, and families will definitely enjoy the new incarnation. While some of the songs(used outside the main set list)/jokes may get dated after 6 months, it’s nothing that can’t be changed out quickly.
