We’re back for August’s photo update around CityWalk and Universal Studios Hollywood! This month, we take a look at the preparations being made throughout the park for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights and Super Nintendo World!

We have a lot to unravel. Let’s get started!

» A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

    CityWalk Hollywood

The Nintendo Switch Road Trip was in CityWalk Hollywood in front of the Universal Cinema from August 25 – 28. Guests were able to register ahead of time for the event and play demos of 3 games – Mario Strikers: Battle League, Nintendo Switch Sports, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. There were also photo opportunities with a Kirby statue and a warp pipe with a backdrop highlighting the opening of Super Nintendo World in early 2023!

Much of the exterior for the highly anticipated Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen has been covered up by scaffolding and black sheets. We can see that some work has been completed on the chimney-like structures at the top. It seems that there is a lot of interior work steadily being done as well. We have yet to hear an opening date.

The Universal Studio Store on CityWalk Hollywood has received a Halloween Horror Night makeover. Featuring The Weeknd front and center, the names of the houses at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights are displayed for everyone to see as they head towards the park.

The scaffolding at the top of Bowser’s Castle has been removed and we can now see Bowser’s emblem clearly. We can also see slight additions being made to the Warp Pipe.

    Halloween Horror Nights 2022 Construction

Signs have been put up all over the park to notify guests that the park is preparing for Halloween Horror Nights.

As guests enter the park they will be able to walk on New York Street to witness the decorations for the Sideshow Slaughterhouse.

Día de los Muertos decorations are up all around the Universal Plaza.

The area surrounding the Animal Actors stage has transformed into the Haunted Forest!

The walls around the house at Parisian Courtyard have been taken down to reveal the entryway and a well.

A lot of decorations and Puesto de Periodicos have been placed around French Street.

The Minions are also ready for Halloween! New Halloween-themed art has been placed along the walls of the Minion Cafe.

A unique clapperboard, very fitting for Halloween Horror Nights has been placed in between the StarWay Escalators. Perfect for a photo opportunity!

Here’s a look at the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house.

Behind the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house we can see the Killer Klowns From Outer Space tent.

Near Jurassic Outfitters, a sign for The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare Bar has popped up.

Located next to the new Character Shop, we have a Killer-BBQ From Outer Space tent. We’re looking forward to the delicious food offerings that will be available!

The Curious George Lot has cleared up and we can see some lights along with barricades placed around the houses.

Opening day is almost upon us and we are truly excited for the return of Horror Nights!

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

Guests can now purchase Super Nintendo World merchandise at the new Character Shop in the Lower Lot. As a reminder, pass member discounts do not apply to this merchandise!

That’ll do it for this month’s photo update. We’ll see y’all out in the fog! As always, we wish you well and thank you for following our continuing coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts.
