REVIEW: Knott’s Merry Farm 2022 at Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm continues its traditions for the holiday season with its festive rebranding as Knott’s Merry Farm.  The Knott’s crew was gracious enough to offer Inside Universal a closer look into the events, attractions, food, and merchandise that are available for a limited time through the end of the 2022 season.

Being a local to the LA/Orange County community, Knott’s Berry Farm offers a tremendous product at a fraction of the cost of other major theme parks.  Families of all ages can experience entertainment in a variety of ways with roller coasters, shows, play areas, personalized shopping, and educational interactivity.

For the holiday season, Knott’s signature show inside the newly named Walter Knott Theater is Snoopy’s Night Before Christmas.  Accessing a great seat for this show requires guests to queue at least an hour prior to showtime.  The performance ranges from a variety of acts such as ice skating, high wire stunts, and theater effects.  Many songs are curated to interest all audiences from classic to modern and unique mixes.  Overall, this family show is very entertaining and somewhat of a surprise with excellent show quality for such a small theater.  Live animals and a classic Peanuts connection with the story of Christmas were an unexpected surprise.

Knott’s Merry Farm continues to offer special food and merchandise for the holidays.  Many items are sold just for a limited time.  Unique pairings like Vixen’s Scalloped Potato and Ham Pizza was pleasurable and salty.  For the sweet tooth, there are options such as the Yuletide S’mores Pecan Milkshake which is sure to splash some Instagram pages.  Merchandise has a very unique flair since it’s not merchandise you will find at another park in the country.  Much of Knott’s shirts and sweaters are focused on the theme park experience at Knott’s Merry Farm and don’t seem to be generic in any way.  Ornaments, Mugs, jackets, and plush toys are just a sample of unique souvenirs with Merry Farm branding available to take home for the holidays.

The exceptional holiday decorations for Knott’s Merry Farm offer a special touch at night.  Decoration lights throughout Camp Snoopy and Ghost Town are bright, inviting, and comfortable.  Shopping through Ghost Town with street vendors offers an abundant array of personalized family gifts that are rarely found at other theme parks in Southern California.

My personal experience with Knott’s has always been enjoyable, especially with smaller crowds.  If you and your family are looking for a holiday experience away from the chaos of Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott’s Merry Farm is a special place that has a classic feel and a hometown touch.  Make your way to the park very early for the 2022 holiday season and pace yourself because the crowding can become a little overwhelming.  Grab some amazing barbecue food for lunch and top it off with a signature funnel cake or a Boysenberry Ice Cream Sandwich.  The Knott’s Merry Farm App is a great way to gather up-to-date information on ride closures and food options.  Knott’s Merry Farm has something for everyone in the family and is the best choice for the local SoCal community this holiday season.
