Here’s a look around at what’s happening at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, from January 23, 2023, to January 29, 2023.

    Universal Orlando

Rock the Universe, Florida’s biggest Christian music festival, is back at Universal Orlando from January 27-29; celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

This year’s headliners include GRAMMY-nominated rock band, Skillet, Northern Irish folk-rock worship band, Rend Collective, Dove award-winning band, Bethel Music, and more. The festival continues Saturday night with performances by GRAMMY award-winning singer, Zach Williams, Billboard’s #1 Hot Christian Song artist, Matthew West, and more. Refurbishments

Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida is still in Technical Rehearsal and may operate on a limited, unscheduled basis. There is no word as to when the ride will “officially” reopen.

Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure is closed for its annual Winter refurbishment. The ride is expected to reopen on February 4, 2023.

Kopiko Wai Winding River at Volcano Bay is closed for refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen on February 15, 2023.

    Universal Studios Hollywood

Super Nintendo World has “Soft Opened” to guests. For those unfamiliar, a “Soft Opening” is essentially a technical rehearsal of a new attraction and/or land; or a final release candidate test for the ride. All the major components are operational but some tweaks, changes, and updates will occur prior to the grand opening. “Soft Openings” are never promised. There is no guarantee the ride will be open. The ride might only open for a period of time, all day, or not at all depending on any issues or changes.

There is no set schedule or guarantee it will be open until its official grand opening, which is set for February 17, 2023.

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen has also “Soft Opened”. The restaurant will officially open on January 27, 2023.

Universal Studios Hollywood is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit as they have announced that Hollywood & Dine will temporarily become the specially-themed Noodle House for the Lunar New Year. Guests will be able to enjoy Asian cuisine at the restaurant from January 19 through February 28.

    Refurbishments

    • Flight of the Hippogriff remains closed. There is no word as to why the attraction closed or when the ride will reopen.
    • Jurassic World: The Ride is closed for refurbishment. The ride is expected to reopen on February 9, 2023.
