SeaWorld Orlando is going to be expanding and it may include building new hotels.

During an investor call, SeaWorld CEO Joel Manby stated that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment will consider building new hotels and resorts at its theme parks, including SeaWorld Orlando.

The company announced that SeaWorld San Diego did enter a partnership with Evans Hotels but no hotels plans have been made, and is more of an exploratory partnership at this time. He did highlight the other SeaWorld parks around the U.S. could expand with hotels/resorts, but no partners have been announced or considered at this time.

Mandy also stated SeaWorld Orlando is “underfunded” and will see some capital investments over the course of a 5-year plan. The plan calls for a major addition, followed by a minor addition for the next 5 years. Mako, which was announced earlier this year, will be the “major” addition in 2016. A new SeaRescue dark ride was also announced today, which would be the “minor” attraction in 2017.
