Universal Studios Hollywood announced today that Jurassic World is coming to the Park in 2019!

As we first reported earlier this week, Jurassic Park: The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood is scheduled to undergo a major refurbishment and will close on Sept 3, 2018.

The refurbishment is set to overhaul and modernize scenes throughout the existing ride design, and feature all-new animatronic elements, to bring the current Jurassic World story to life; including never-before-seen dinosaurs, enhanced storytelling, lush scenic design, an entirely new color scheme and state-of-the-art technology.

The Universal Studios Hollywood website provides some details as to what the overlay will entail:

On this river-raft adventure, get doused as a colossal Mosasaursus dives for its great white shark snack. But the real danger lies ahead when the brutal Indominus rex escapes its enclosure. Be prepared when a 50-foot Tyrannosaurs rex comes to your rescue… right before your final plunge down a treacherous 84-foot waterfall.

The Jurassic Cove restaurant and Jurassic Outfitters retail store also will close with the attraction and reopen with the new experience in 2019.
