CityWalk Hollywood

The two chimney-like structures on the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen construction site have a lot of scaffolding covering its exterior compared to last month. We are not able to see much of the interior, but a lot of work is steadily being completed on the exterior.

The Universal Cinema features posters of Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer from the new Jordan Peele film, Nope. The doors at the front also encourage guests to experience riding through Jupiter’s Claim on the Studio Tour at the park.

The new Starbucks located near the Center Court Fountain above Antojitos is now open! It is operating 7 days a week and the current hours of operation are from 8am to 3pm. There are plenty of outdoor tables and seating.

The previous location for Production Central on CityWalk now has a black tarp covering its sign out in the storefront.

The exterior of the Universal Studio Store is decorated with pictures of the Minions along with Gru to promote, Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Minions Takeover Universal Plaza

In celebration of the Minions: Rise of Gru, the Universal Plaza has been given a Minion makeover! There are several photo opportunities located within the plaza including a giant inflatable balloon of the newest character from the film, Otto! In addition to Otto, the famous trio – Bob, Stewart, and Kevin can be seen on banners located on the poles surrounding the balloon. There are also a few colorful backdrops that guests can take a photo with and on occasion a few Minions may come out to say “Bello!”

Super Nintendo World Construction

We now see many beloved characters at Super Nintendo World. In addition to Coin Boxes, a POW Block, 1-Up Mushroom, and a few clouds that are scattered throughout, we now see Thwamps, several Goombas, Pokey, and Yoshi! There is also a flagpole with the iconic “M” that can be seen at the top.

Halloween Horror Nights 2022 Construction

On the Curious George Lot, we can see a few pieces of decor that have become additions to the two houses. We can see what appears to be a scarecrow under a black tarp and also some crates of boxes and dried tumbleweed for the second house.

We can see some minor rearrangements of props at the Universal Monsters: Legends Collide house next to the Mummy queue as well as some additions to its entrance.

We see the construction of a house near Stage 16 that can be seen from the Studio Tour on the Lower Lot.

Walls are being put up at the Bates Motel as a part of the Terror Tram.

Jupiter’s Claim Attraction on the Studio Tour

Guests can now experience riding through Jupiter’s Claim and get a glimpse into the world of Nope, Jordan Peele’s newest thriller starring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. VIP Guests will be able to walk around the set which was used in the actual film and regular guests will be able to view the set from inside the tram. You can read our coverage from the opening preview here.

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

There are posters promoting Nope on the Mummy building which are visible from the Star Way.

Select pieces of merchandise for Nope can be found in stores.

Several popcorn buckets along with pails are available for purchase throughout the park! This includes the new Jurassic World popcorn pail with the light-up logo, the Minion car popcorn pail, and a Gudetama popcorn bucket which is available in the Animation Store in the Upper Lot. Popcorn pails and buckets come with free popcorn along with refills on the day of purchase!

A new concession stand is now open on the Lower Lot in front of the Character Shop, formerly known as the Studio Store. Many popcorn buckets and pails are displayed as well as advertised on the screen out in the front.

That’ll do it for this month’s photo update. As always, we wish you well and thank you for following our continuing coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts.
