Universal Studios Japan has announced that they will be permanently closing The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man on Monday, January 22, 2024.

To celebrate its final run, Universal Studios Japan will be hosting a “Final Campaign” – which will run starting July 4, 2023, until the attraction’s closure. The “Final Campaign” will include commemorative merchandise and stickers.

Located in the New York section, the ride opened on January 23, 2004, meaning the closure will happen just one day shy of its 20th Anniversary.

We should clarify that the attraction’s closure only impacts Japan’s version. There are no plans for Orlando’s version of the attraction, or Marvel Super Hero Island, to close in the immediate future.

In addition, Universal has also announced that Terminator 2: 3-D and Backdraft, which are currently on hiatus, will officially close in preparation for future plans.

It has been rumored that those future plans may finally bring Pokemon to the park, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
