The Bypass Bridge reopens at Islands of Adventure

Universal Orlando has reopened the Bypass Bridge as Spring Break crowds begin to arrive at the theme parks; which also gives guests some awesome new views of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster – set to open this Summer.

The Bypass Bridge connects Lost Continent to Jurassic Park, bypassing the often-busy Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. The bridge is used to help assist with traffic flow, especially during special events and nighttime activities in the Wizarding World. It was originally constructed in 2008 during the construction of Hogsmeade.

With the bridge reopened, guests are now able to get some new angles and views of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster. Some areas of the track come excitingly close to the bridge, providing an exhilarating sight as trains speed by.

The coaster will catapult guests up to 70 mph and more than 150 feet in the air. The vehicle was designed for speed and engineered “for the hunt”, the coaster’s revolutionary ride vehicle will send riders twisting and soaring across 4,700 feet of track as they encounter near-misses, launches, 12 heart-pounding seconds of airtime, and more – with just a lap bar restraint holding them in place.

More details about the coaster will be revealed in the months ahead.

Stay tuned to Inside Universal for all the latest on the new coaster and other news around the Universal Parks & Resorts.
