July 18, 2014 – In an effort to bolster its summer entertainment offerings inside Universal Plaza, Universal has added a new stage show titled CityBeat.
The sixteen-minute a cappella interactive song and dance show brings together five talented artists and harmonizes them into one group – with three of the five singers are vying to win a singing competition. Audience members are selected to come on stage and to spin the wheel that will decide what category of song the group be singing.
The categories include – Party Rock Anthems, Hate 2 Love, You Choose, Throw Back, Movie Theme Songs, and Last 5 Years.
Once the wheel has stopped and the category has been selected, each of the three singers will sing from a pre-set group of songs. Some of the playlist includes Pharrells’ Happy, Eminem’s 8 Mile, Lorde’s Royal, Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time, and Ghostbusters’ Who Are You Gonna to Call among others.
