Here’s a look around at what’s happening at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, from July 3, 2023, to July 9, 2023.

Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando will be celebrating Independence Day on July 4 around the Resort with live music, characters, and fireworks – however, no information or showtimes are available at this time.

Minion Cafe and Minion Land  – which includes Bake My Day, Illumination Theater Meet & Greet, and Freeze Ray Pops – has officially soft opened!

A soft opening is a technical rehearsal where all the major components are operational but some tweaks, changes, and updates will occur prior to the grand opening. Operating hours can vary, and an opening is not guaranteed until the area officially opens – which hasn’t been announced yet.

Villain-Con Minion Blast is not a part of the soft opening phase at this time.

Please keep in mind refurbishment dates can change.

The Nighttime Lights At Hogwarts Castle is currently on an extended closure for “future show enhancements”. No reopening timeframe has been given at this time.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood celebrates Independence Day on July 4 with its annual dazzling display of 4th of July fireworks, live music, themed décor, and more. All festivities are included in the price of theme park admission. At 9:00 p.m., the festivities will ramp up as colorful fireworks illuminate the nighttime sky to the tune of familiar Universal-themed music and patriotic favorites.

The Death Eaters will be returning to the Wizarding World for a limited time from July 1-16, 2023, as part of the “Dark Art at Hogwarts Castle”.

Super Nintendo World is officially open! Reservations are not required, however, Universal will utilize a virtual queue system once the land reaches capacity. Make sure to download the official Universal Studios Hollywood app!

Please keep in mind refurbishment dates can change.

The Earthquake portion of the Studio Tour is closed for refurbishment until Spring 2024. The Studio Tour remains open, but will now bypass that portion.
