Welcome back to March’s photo update around CityWalk and Universal Studios Hollywood. This month, we take a look at changes to the park, along with the marketing push for the highly anticipated, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and take a look at the start of Halloween Horror Nights 2023 construction.

    Let’s get started!

    Park Update Index

    » CityWalk Hollywood
» Halloween Horror Nights 2023 Construction
» The Super Mario Bros Movie
» A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

    CityWalk Hollywood

Signs showcasing and highlighting the city of LA can be seen around CityWalk.

The Dodgers Clubhouse is closed and under renovation.

Walls have started to go up in the Parisian Courtyard and areas surrounding Mel’s Diner have also been closed off.

    The Super Mario Bros Movie

Universal Studios has started the marketing push around the theme park and CityWalk for the upcoming film, The Super Mario Bros.

Universal Cinema is decorated and ready to warp guests on an adventure when The Super Mario Bros. Movie opens in theaters on April 5th. Three large warp pipes are located at its entrance and posters of Mario along with Bowser decorate the front.

There is also a photo opportunity located right near the cinema. In the front, guests can stand inside a kart to pose in front of Mario and friends on Rainbow Road. In the back, guests can pose with a poster of Mario.

The banners for The Super Mario Bros. Movie in between the areas of the Starway and on the side of the Revenge of the Mummy have been updated with new poster designs.

Upon exiting the park, posters promoting the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie can be seen.

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

A new collectible Minion Selfie Popcorn Bucket is available for purchase all throughout the park. Free popcorn refills are available on the day of purchase.

Digital signage is now located throughout the park – in front of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, in between the Starway, and near the Jurassic World area to display Super Nintendo World entry updates.

Balloons are now available for purchase at the park! There are two designs for the balloons – a Universal Studios Hollywood design and a Jurassic World Dominion design, both of which are available in a variety of colors. The white balloons will also light up.

Production Central is still offering merchandise from films such as Jurassic Park and Back to the Future for 50% off.

That’ll do it for this month’s photo update. As always, we wish you well and thank you for following our continuing coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts.
