Universal Monsters Cafe at Universal Studios Florida gets updated menu

The Universal Monsters Cafe at Universal Studios Florida has updated its menu, focusing on more BBQ-centric dishes and themed dishes.

Guests can order platters or combos of 2 or 3 meats, including brisket, chicken, ribs, and sausage. Each platter comes with 2 sides and cornbread. Combos include your choice of watermelon or Peach Cobbler. Combos range from $14-22, depending on the entree and the number of meats chosen. Besides the BBQ meats, guests can order the Black Lagoon Salad, which is a salad served with beef brisket, tomato, eggs, grains, kale, spinach, mixed greens, and buttermilk ranch. Wood oven pizza is also available.

If you’re looking to skip the meats altogether, there is a Supernatural Sides Combo offered – which allows a choice of just 3 sides for $16.79. The sides include; French Fang Fries, Franken Mac N Cheese, Baked Beans, Brussels Sprouts, Swamp Coleslaw, and Coffin Cornbread.

In addition, a new themed drink – called Lavender Elixir has been added to the menu. The drink, which is just Sprite with blueberry popping boba, is quite refreshing.

The menu also offers a vegan dish, which Universal has recently been working on expanding its options, called The Mummy combo – a slow-cooked jackfruit, with crispy onions, crunchy slaw on a kaiser roll, served with fries and choice of peach cobbler or watermelon.

Guests can also purchase desserts separately, including the Phantom Peach Cobbler and the Crypt Cookie, which is a larger S’mores chocolate chip cookie.

Considering the amount of quick-service locations that serve the standard burgers and chicken nuggets throughout the Resort, the addition of a BBQ quick-service spot is a welcome change. Our choice, the Perilous Pair Combo, was enjoyable and we found it to be a good value considering the amount of food that was served, especially the sides and desserts.

Universal Dining is accepted at this location and can be used for many of the options on the menu. Mobile Express Ordering is also available.
