Universal Orlando has opened Central Park Crêpes, a new food stand located near the entrance of Central Park in Universal Studios Florida.

For those unaware, crêpes are just like pancakes, maybe even better. Some call them really thin pancakes; Universal Orlando says they’re “handcakes”.

Smoked brisket crêpe being made to order.

The stand offers the choice of either sweet or savory crêpes:

Chicken & Goat Cheese $7.99
Grilled Chicken, mushrooms, pesto, arugula, goat cheese
Smoked Brisket $7.99
Smoked brisket, pepper jack cheese, coleslaw, golden BBQ ranch
Vegan Sausage $7.99
Vegan mozzarella, Gardien sausage, vegan pesto, diced tomatoes, balsamic glaze
Lemon Blueberry $6.99
Lemon mascarpone, blueberries, lemon curd, whipped cream, lemon pound cake, powdered sugar
Strawberry Hazelnut $6.99
Nutella mascarpone, Nutella, strawberries, powdered sugar
Cookies & Cream $6.99
Oreo cookie crumbles, Oreo mascarpone, whipped cream, chocolate ganache, powdered sugar

The crêpes are made to order and are included in the Universal Dining Plan. Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are also located at the stand, allowing you to refill your refillable cups here.

The stand is currently operating under a “soft opening”, so hours are subject to change and vary by day.

During our visit, we tried the Smoked Brisket and Lemon Blueberry. The crêpes themselves are a pretty decent size, making it a bit more than a snack. The Smoked Brisket was delicious, especially when you get a bite with the golden BBQ ranch. We have yet to try the other savory options, but we have a feeling the Smoked Brisket will be tough to beat as our favorite.

The Lemon Blueberry crêpe

The Lemon Blueberry was good, but a tad on the “too sweet” side. It also was the messier of the two, as the filling kept on oozing out – so make sure to bring some extra napkins. We’d order it again, though; but definitely will be using a fork next time for the assist.

The crêpes can be enjoyed on the go, but you can also sit and enjoy it – with seating set up outside of Cafe La Bamba.

Stay tuned to Inside Universal as we plan on trying the other crêpe options soon.
