Welcome to our first photo update for Universal Studios Hollywood and Citywalk for 2024. This month, we take a look at some new offerings in Citywalk, as well as the continual work being done in preparation for the new Fast and Furious coaster on the Upper Lot, and a few other projects around the park.

    Let’s get started!

    Park Update Index

    » CityWalk Hollywood
» Fast & Furious Coaster Construction
» A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

    CityWalk Hollywood

Universal Cinema is promoting the new Dreamworks film Migration which opened in theaters last month.

The Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar debuted earlier this month at CityFood, the second-level food court at Citywalk. They serve Hawaiian Poke Bowls, Boba Milk Teas, and tropical-style desserts.

Celebrity Authentics opened its doors to the public. This location sells a variety of film and television memorabilia, autographed items, and collectibles. Walking through the store to see their displays is worthwhile even if you’re not an avid collector.

    Fast & Furious Coaster Construction

Construction crews are busy transforming the hillside area of the park into the new Fast and Furious coaster, expected to open sometime next year.

Land clearing has taken place on both sides of the Starway escalator where the attraction will run through.

Most of the land prep work is wrapping up as they get ready to move into the next phases of construction.

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

Waterworld is currently closed for its annual refurbishment.

There is still time to indulge in some of Universal’s “Winter Favorites” food options at locations such as Hollywood and Dine, near the entrance to the park.

New Lunar New Year 2024 Minions merchandise has arrived at the Animation Studio Store in the Upper Lot. This year, the Lunar New Year celebrates the Year of the Dragon.

The rumored cafe at the New York Street facade is coming along. All exterior work has wrapped up but the location is still behind construction fences while crews get the interior ready to open.

The “New York Street Sweep” dance show is still performing – featuring performers dressed as custodial workers having a dance party. The show draws a decent crowd and allows guests to join in on the fun. This is located just outside the Universal Plaza.

That’ll do it for this month’s photo update. Thank you for joining us and following our coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts, we wish you well and will see you next month.
