Universal Studios Singapore to add Minion Park and Super Nintendo World in huge expansion

Universal Studios Singapore is set to expand, adding two new themed lands to the park – Minion Park and Super Nintendo World – marking its first expansion since opening in 2010.

The two new areas, one inspired by Illumination’s blockbuster Despicable Me franchise, and the other by Nintendo’s globally popular games and characters, will feature new rides and attractions for all audiences.

    The new Minion Park

In Minion Park, the area’s main attraction will be Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. The motion-simulator thrill ride has become a staple of Universal Parks since opening in Universal Studios Florida in 2012. The ride has been added to the Hollywood and Japan parks since then. The new Minion Park area will replace the current Madagascar area.

Super Nintendo World will be the 2nd area added, joining the plans to bring the world to life in all Universal Parks & Resorts. The area is set to bring the fun, characters, action and adventure of Nintendo games to life within a highly themed environment.  Guests will enter an exciting world filled with highly themed attractions, shops and restaurants where they will feel as if they have stepped into a larger than-life Nintendo adventure.  More details will be announced later.

Universal Studios Singapore’s expansion is part of a S$9 Billion dollar investment to Resorts World Sentosa. Along with the expansion, the Universal exclusivity license has been extended until 2030. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2025.
