After closing July 1st, Universal Studios Hollywood has begun demo work on the Globe Theater, starting with the removal of some of the facades down Baker Street. During the demolition process, The Walking Dead Attraction will have minimal impacts. TV monitors in the queue have been moved off of the Globe Theater. In addition, the entrance to the maze is now under protective scaffolding. It is believed that the helicopter at the entrance will be removed. Universal Orlando surprised everyone last night during its 4th of July celebration by debuting their new nighttime show, Universal’s Cinematic Celebration, for technical rehearsals. Universal Studios Hollywood is now serving Butterbeer Ice Cream! The hard-pack ice cream will be served at various carts located within Hogsmeade and at Three Broomsticks. The ice cream now joins the list of other Butterbeer favorites such as traditional, frozen and hot beverages, as well as Butterbeer Potted Cream and Butterbeer Fudge. There are no plans at this time for the soft-serve version of Butterbeer ice cream to make its way to Hollywood. Universal Orlando has revealed today details regarding the food hall, Urban Pantry, located inside the new Aventura Hotel opening this August. Inspired by world-famous food halls and markets found in major cities like San Francisco and London, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner; with plenty of seating and large floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy a view of the pool while you eat. Some of the options include a Roast Station – offering choices of ribs, chicken, paella, and an assortment of sides. Universal Orlando announced today the final 2 scarezones – as zones based on the films Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Child’s Play will be featured at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights 28 event. In Killer Klowns, guests will try to escape the killer klowns or face the wrath of their ray guns, which will turn them into grotesque cotton candy snacks. Revenge of Chucky will feature a toy fair that Chucky has twisted into “new” nightmares – such as murderous monkeys and other familiar toys. Universal Orlando has announced a new original house that will be featured at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights 28 – Slaughter Sinema. Based on B-movies from the 80’s, the house is set in a decrepit drive-in movie theater and will feature creatures such as alien cannibals, creatures with tons of teeth and a ravenous swamp yeti. Universal Orlando has announced their new night show, Universal’s Cinematic Celebration – will be debuting this Summer at Universal Studios Florida. The show combines all-new storyline with full panoramic water screens, accented by additional multi-layer water screens, pyrotechnics, more than 120 dancing fountains, and projection mapping; using the entire waterfront and surrounding buildings. Universal Orlando announced that Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites is now accepting reservations. Opening in August 2019, the new resort will be the first hotel in the destination’s new Value hotel category, with rates starting at less than $100 per night.
